The Silver Fork began with a single antique fork I found at a flea market—elegant, timeless, and full of character. It reminded me of why I fell in love with food: the stories shared around the table.

After years of cooking in other kitchens and dreaming of my own, I finally found a small space on a quiet street. With a lot of hard work and a little help from friends, I opened The Silver Fork—a cozy restaurant where every meal feels special.

The original fork still hangs by the door, a reminder that even the smallest things can inspire something big.

About Us

Spaghetti

Spaghetti, one of the most iconic pasta types, gets its name from the Italian word spaghetto, meaning "little string." While it's a staple of Italian cuisine, pasta’s origins trace back to ancient China. Spaghetti as we know it today didn’t include tomato sauce until the 16th century, after tomatoes were brought to Europe from the Americas. Traditionally cooked al dente, it’s often served with a variety of sauces, though Spaghetti Bolognese is actually more popular outside Italy. With over 600 pasta shapes worldwide, spaghetti remains a favorite, even earning its own spotlight on World Pasta Day, celebrated every October 25.

Spaghetti

Spaghetti has become a worldwide favorite, but did you know it's one of the most consumed types of pasta globally? In the U.S. alone, Americans eat over 1.9 million tons of pasta each year, with spaghetti topping the list. Italy still leads in per capita pasta consumption, averaging about 23 kg per person annually. Interestingly, the first reference to pasta in Italy dates back to the 13th century, and early spaghetti was often dried in the sun on racks. There’s even a famous 1957 BBC hoax that showed spaghetti growing on trees—many viewers believed it!

Salads

Salads date back to Roman times, where raw vegetables were commonly eaten with vinegar and oil. The word "salad" comes from sal, Latin for salt, because dressings were originally salty. Today, salads can be hearty meals on their own, especially varieties like Cobb, Caesar, or grain-based bowls loaded with proteins and superfoods.

Burger

The hamburger likely originated from German immigrants bringing "Hamburg steak" to the U.S., but it evolved into the bun-and-patty classic we know today in the early 1900s. The world’s most expensive burger once sold for over $5,000, but burgers remain one of the most affordable and beloved comfort foods globally.

Sushi

Sushi originated as a way to preserve fish in fermented rice over 1,000 years ago in Southeast Asia, evolving into the fresh and artistic Japanese dish we love today. Contrary to popular belief, not all sushi involves raw fish—many rolls use cooked seafood or vegetables. Wasabi served in most places is actually a blend of horseradish and mustard, since real wasabi is rare and expensive.
